In 2020, Deutsche Lufthansa AG mandated us regarding the employment law implementation of the group restructuring required due to the Covid pandemic, involving various restructuring projects in all companies and divisions of the group.
Seitz first negotiated an extensive volunteer program for Lufthansa pilots to counter the reduced level of air traffic expected in 2020. At the same time, Seitz advised on crisis collective agreements for cockpit staff and ground staff.
Seitz successfully negotiated the closure of Germanwings GmbH in 2021 and was subsequently able to enforce a so-called "Social Plan Zero" in court. Seitz also played a leading role in advising on the reorganization of pilot training at Lufthansa, in particular the closure of the flight school in Bremen. The group subsidiary Lufthansa Technik also relied on Seitz's expertise in a Germany-wide restructuring.
In addition, Seitz continuously supports the collective bargaining with labor union Vereinigung Cockpit e.V. Following the conclusion of a collective agreement in 2022, a long-running collective bargaining agreement until the end of 2026 could be agreed in the summer of 2023.
