Julian Peters advises companies in all sectors and industries as well as high net worth individuals and families on national and international tax law.
An industry focus of his work is advising insurance companies on various tax issues. For example, he regularly assists insurers in defending themselves against liability claims from tax advisors and corporate bodies for alleged tax damages. Another industry focus of his work is the healthcare sector. Here, he assists clients from a tax perspective, inter alia, in setting up complex group structures as part of buy-and-build strategies.
A core focus of his legal practice is also the defense in criminal tax proceedings as well as advice on the interface of tax law and criminal tax law, e.g. in connection with the submission of correction reports and voluntary disclosures. In this area, he has extensive experience in advising both companies and private individuals.
Julian Peters studied at the Universities of Trier, Münster and Boston. In his comparative law dissertation, he dealt with the taxation of employee shareholdings in the USA and Germany. The doctorate was preceded by studies abroad at Boston University, from which he graduated with a Master of Laws in American Law.
